If you have decided to create and start an online business you will begin to learn more about how to optimize and monetize it. These two terms may seem the same but they are two very different tools that many online business owners use. Online businesses should be using both of these tools to grow successfully. When I mention optimizing I am speaking of optimization of a business over making the best and most effective use of opportunities for yourself. To optimize a business is simply to change things about the business over time which ultimately causes the business success. To monetize a business is to use a product or what have you to make money from an online website. If you have ever been on the MSN website from your web browser or read a popular blog you will see many ads from various companies being advertised on them this is an example of monetization. Anything that is used to make money on a website is monetization.

Optimization is to experiment with different ways to make a business better in the customers’ eyes to achieve a business goal.

Monetization is to use anything to make money for a business whether that is a service, product, or asset.

Optimization

Technically optimization involves SEO, data tracking, and keyword search. The best way to think of optimizing a business is to realize things change over time and so should business. Perspective does matter in the eyes of customers. Optimization is not just technically driven. The technical or business side is never seen or known by the people who buy from the company. What I mean is no one sees the hard work that goes into marketing a business. People see a finished product.

Organic Marketing is generating sales for a business over time without using any paid sources.

In today’s world using organic ways to market a business can also be paid method because of the invention of the internet. People worldwide can sell their particular set of skills. There are organic concepts that work overtime to help make and keep your business flowing by asking important questions about your business.

  • Things that need to be done immediately
  • Make the right decisions
  • Repeat what is working

Monetization

An online business is not a business without monetization. It doesn’t cost much to monetize an online business. It can also cost nothing to monetize the business unless you have something different in mind that you envision. To monetize your online business is to pick anything that you can sell on your website, but it is not that simple. It is easy to say what you are going to sell. How hard is it to make a sale; know that’s a different story.

It seems to be self-explanatory these days on how to make money online but as many people gain success there are just as many people that are not or somehow find themselves ankle to the curb I like to say.

You can monetize an already made money-making foundation or a new platform to gain the attention of people who like what a company is offering. There are many ways to monetize an online business offline and online but I want to focus on organic ways because it helps define the difference between monetization and optimization.

The Importance of Optimization and Monetization

When you begin to think about how to run a successful business it is important to reach the goals you set for the business. Optimizing the business as it grows will help achieve business goals. It is no different than planning out each day and making changes along the way. Small businesses and big corporations benefit from good planning and well-thought-out strategies.

If you do not want to have the need to depend on a job forever for the rest of your life then finding a way to use your own special set of skills to make money will help. Anyone can sustain themselves if you can find value in your own abilities. I believe you should truly put your mind to it.

If you believe you do not have any skills learn one if you can. Monetization is making money as a business entity. I am sure I do not have to continue encouraging you to not give up on yourself. It is great to have a plan and do something you love to do for free, but how awesome is it to benefit from your own initiative.
Since we all live in a monetary system I do not need to tell anyone about the importance of money. Monetizing is how to use a particular skill set to help become financially free.

There is no one way to become financially free. You will have to choose what you think you are good at and turn it into something of value. You will not know if something can work if you never try. When you fail at something it means that you are not just sitting around doing absolutely nothing. The more you focus on something the more you will learn from it. Life is going to happen. Make the decision to change. Optimizing a business includes change. When choosing to monetize your business it should go with the changes you make for your business.
